Fleet Maintenance
We look after our own fleet of coaches,
maintaining and carrying out scheduled service and repairs.
Our vehicles are subject to full safety
inspections every 8 weeks or 10,000 miles, which we carry out in house.
M.O.T pre test checks are also carried out by
our team. Proper vehicle maintenance records are logged in individual
vehicle files, as required by the ministry.
Tyres are subject to a contract with Michelin
tyres, they oversee monthly tyre inspections which include checks for
damage, cuts, un-even wear etc.
All vehicles are subjected to a daily ‘Nil
defects reporting System’. As part of their responsibilities as a PCV
driver, the driver carries out a comprehensive check of his vehicle before
starting his day’s work. These checks include lights, wipers, tyres,
mirrors, leaks etc, the vehicle is then recorded as either ‘Nil’ defect or
the recorded defect shown on the daily inspection sheet and handed to
engineering dept for rectification.
All mechanical servicing is carried out as per
manufacturers guidelines and only genuine parts are used, as we feel that the
genuine parts meet manufactures own high standards, therefore the standard
of repair is maintained with no compromise.
By maintaining our vehicles to the standards
set by the ministry, manufacturers, and ourselves, it contributes to the
smooth running of our fleet. Safe well-maintained coaches are the only
coaches we operate.
Safety Inspections.
Every vehicles components inside and out, under
body as well, are checked for wear tightness and performance. A smoke test
is carried out to ensure our vehicle complies with emissions guide lines,
any items requiring attention are dealt with as required, the vehicle is
then road tested before returning to service.
M.O.T. Preparation
All commercial vehicles regardless of age, are
tested annually. preparation for test is usually carried out 1 week in
advance of the test date. Similar to the routine safety inspections, it also
includes a full under body steam clean and rolling road brake check.
We generally find that little needs to be done
at this time for the test, as our policy of little and often approach to our
fleet maintenance is much better than having everything to do for the test.
This policy produces a better than average pass
rate for our vehicles and reliability in the use of our coaches.
Commercial Lorry and Bus & Coach Operators.
We carry out the
same full engineering service for a number of these operators, applying the
same standards that we operate for our own fleet, including all routine
safety checks.
